FROM THE GROUND UP:The focus of this DVD is the most often overlooked area of instruction-ground handling of the horse. Safety for the horse and handler is stressed. Instruction includes the correct way to tie, groom, bathe, exercise at liberty, and on the lunge line. Protecting the horse’s legs and the use of leg wraps are emphasized. Learn to correctly identify the parts of the horse and how to evaluate major health problems. The program concludes with an introduction to basic writing technique. DON BURT, who has judged the national or world championship of every major breed of horse, is well known as the author of several books, as a monthly columnist for Horse & Rider, and for his numerous clinics and seminars across the nation. Dawn is assisted by HEATHER BENDER, a national junior dressage champion.
