In the Stable with Heather Morris Series 1 - Safety Rules, Handling, Grooming, and Tacking
|
The In The Stable Video Series takes you on a wonderful journey into the equestrian world. Horse lovers are passionate about horses and hungry for knowledge. The staff at In the Stable is just as passionate about passing down the art of horsemanship so that generations to calm will possess equestrian knowledge and "know-how". We want your horse experience in the stable to be positive and safe for you and your mount.
Some of the things you will learn in the Series #1 videos:
Safety Rules: If you just love watching horses, you will be mesmerized by this video! See horses playing and working in their different disciplines. You will also learn the safety rules of a barn and why they are so important. See why running in a barn can spell disaster - and why you should never go barefoot in a barn.
Handling: See Heather and her students handling horses the safe way. They show you how to halter a horse in the stall and the field, as well as how to remove and return the horse to each location safely. They also demonstrate how to tie a horse properly both in cross ties and at a hitching post with a quick-release know, often one of the most perplexing concepts to students.
Grooming: Heather and her student take you step-by-step through grooming a horse properly. Once you've watched this video and used the corresponding worksheets, you will never again wonder which brush to use next!
Tacking: If you're going to ride, you have to know how to tack up your horse. All of the parts to a saddle and bridle can be very confusing. Heather and her students help you simplify the process. Learn how to tack up two different horses that have different types of bits and pads. You'll also learn a nifty tip for seeing if your saddle fits.
