Anja Beran's DVD was wonderful. She is a beautiful rider, and her horses are happy to work with her. Just the demeanor of the horses says that her training techniques are the best for them, and the fact that those techniques also work says even more. You "can" have a contented horse that performs at the upper levels of dressage, she proves it. She had horses doing perfect piaffes with a slack rein, and nowhere did you see any of her horses with their heads behind the vertical. What she did with the horse Flamingo was incredible: from a troubled horse who mistrusted humans to a well-muscled horse sitting back on his haunches for piaffe with "listening" ears in 7 months. No, it wasn't done in 7 weeks--classical training is NOT a short cut--but his change was outstanding. I can't wait until DVD 2 and 3 get to me.

Wonderful video of what classical dresssage traing should do for horse; I especially liked the story about Flamingo, the Westphalian gelding who was stiff and unable to track up and thus not able to even do simple shoulders fore and leg yields. The video tracked "Flamingo's" progresss under saddle and in longing and the results at the end were remarkable--the horse was supple, athletic, and was totally able to advance in his dressage training and advance up the levels. A Must See video for serious dressage students!

Both my trainer and I loved this DVD. Her work is exemplary, her methods purely classical. A "must-see" for anyone interested in proper, time-proven, classical training.
