If you are looking for a "how-to" dvd this is not for you. Instead Hempfling takes you on a spiritual journey of what our relationship means with the horse, and his thoughts on the horse as symbol and as a guide on our own Spiritual Path. This dvd is more of an artistic, documentary of Hempfling’s early horse training years with footage of him working in Spain where he wrote and photographed the book Dancing with Horses. It is not specifcally a How-To type of video though if you have read his Dancing book you will find some good video of his leading techniques, as well as the pelvis thrust for stop requests. More explanation is given to his leading positions and there is much footage of some of his Borderline Demonstrations.

Seeing Klaus Hempfling interacting with horses is wonderful. Hearing his perspectives is also inspiring. Understanding how I can communicate with my horse on that level is not as clear. I do grasp the main message, having a calm and confident attitude and using certain kinds of body language to communicate, and that it will take time and getting a feel for what is effective. It's the beginning that's tricky, without more support in the learning curve this sounds better in theory than practice. I did enjoy seeing it in any case, it is worth watching.

This is the second of the Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling films I've seen, and I have to say they are both excellent. He seems to be a very talented "horse whisperer" and able to translate his talents practically. I would recommend this film to anyone who would like to be closer to their horses.

DVD is terrible! Does not teach you a thing! Not even in English! Don't waste your time with this one!
