This video was made in 1989 during the 150th anniversary of the Galway hunt. It shows the in's and out's of an old-style hunt "warts and all" (shooting foxes, slaughtering animals, riders falling, etc.), but was interesting to watch and educational. The only big downside was that there was an odd lack of horses. A good portion of the film was put into the dogs and the business of running a hunt, but nothing on the actual horses that rode other than a 2 minute mention of how expensive they were to keep up.

This a great movie for anyone who loves to trail ride, hunt, or hunter pace. Cantering through the countryside and jumping low rock walls makes you just want to get out there and try it. It also shows the mutual respect of the community in coordination with the hunt to keep this great part of history alive and well. You'll press play again after this one.

Great fun following the members of this famous pack as they canter through the green fields and woods or Ireland - beautiful country and beautiful horses. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
