The compulsory exercises: Mount, Basic Seat, Flag, Mill, Scissors, Stand, Flank as well as dismounts and pre-exercises, tips to train the horse, prevention of injury, assistance for beginners, warm-up and stretching. Part 1 gives instruction for trainers and vaulters to teach and learn the basic skills. It logically builds up the training according to the degree of difficulty. On the barrel as training tool, each exercise is taken apart into its individual components, these are taught separately with detailed technical pointers and later demonstrated on the horse as a whole, in canter as well as in slow motion.

Equestrian Vaulting: Safe and Fun for Everyone

Right from the start the child gains body control, balance and harmony with the horse. S/he gets accustomed to height and speed and learns self-confidence, team spirit and consideration for the horse – before s/he is allowed to have direct influence as a rider! Correct vaulting training provides safety for the person and more enjoyment for the riding horse!

Jutta Weimer has been enthusiastically involved for 40 years: as active vaulter, trainer, judge and author of many technical articles on vaulting.
