The breeding, selection, training, and development of the dressage horse from birth to advanced levels, from the viewpoints of the breeder, trainer, and judge.

2004 USDF Symposium remastered for DVD. For the first time, U.S. breeders candidly compare the U.S. breeding and young horse program.

Steffan Peters discusses conformation and temperament as they relate to trainability and movement in the horse. Also discussed is the judging system and how it reinforces the training basics.

Scott Hassler and Christoph Hess demonstrate how the horses’ conformation influences the quality of training. They demonstrate the correct basics for starting young horses, an analysis of gaits, and the training scale.

Steffan Peters then demonstrates the continued training of young horses, moving toward such advanced concepts as collection and suppleness.

You will see two international trainers, using FEI level horses, demonstrate the use of training techniques that are based on a classical and systematic approach.
